How To Turn On a Polaris Slingshot

How to turn on a Polaris SlingshotFrom the curves of the body of this beauty to the features that come with the SL & SLR models, there is nothing basic about the Polaris Slingshot. If you are having troubles on turning on any of our Polaris Slingshot rentals don’t worry. Sit tight in your bucket seat and follow the 3 steps below to get yourself going.

Lets cut to the chase and show you how to turn on a Polaris Slingshot.

STEP 1: PRESS & HOLD THE BRAKE

Although here in Miami Beach and South Florida we have flat roads, any minor inclined land will make the Slingshot roll once you engage the clutch and remove the emergency brake. Just like you have to do in any other car to turn it on, the Polaris car is no different, press down on the foot brake.

STEP 2: ENGAGE THE CLUTCH

How we are dealing with a manual transmission motorcycle, make sure to either hold down the clutch or shift the Polaris 3 wheeler into neutral. If you do not do this when you turn it on, the Slingshot will stall on you. This can call damage to the flywheel and the transmission causing you to potentially loose your security deposit on your rental.

STEP 3: PLACE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION

The ignition switch on this 3 wheeler is a bit different than your typical car. It is a push to start but does not have a smart key, so you have to place the key in the ignition first. Now, the ignition key does have an ACC to just run the radio and lights so you have to make sure to turn the key one position to open the switch. Once you have done this, you are now ready for the final step and get going in your bat mobile looking trike.

STEP 4: PUSH TO START

This is the final step. Remember you have to do all the steps simultaneously for you to turn it on safely. Right under the radio in the middle dashboard of the motorcycle, you will find a circular red button with a thunderbolt drawn on it. Push down on it and hold for 3 seconds, you will hear the 4-cylinder engine turn over. Shift into gear and you are ready to drive off on your slingshot rental.
